- Russ & I will be back later this week to continue with the topic of adult entertainment, as we’ll take a look at more mainstream stars, stars of the past, trends, etc. If you missed our first entry, relating to current “reality” adult stars, you can check it out HERE.
- The World Series starts tonight. I’ll be viewing that and The Ultimate Fighter tonight. Junie Browning fights on TUF8 tonight, yayaz~! We also get more pranks, a black-belt callout, and more on the Frank Mir heel turn. Should be a good night of television. As for the Series, I predict Rays in 6, with the Phillies winning tonight. Boom. I’m horrible at predictions, though, so maybe you all should bet on the Phils to take it.

UFC vs Affliction Update
UFC threw the MMA world a curveball today, announcing officially a UFC pay-per-view event eminating from Dublin, Ireland, on Saturday, January 17. Earlier thought to be a Spike TV special, UFC made this a PPV live event. The date, which Affliction MMA also had hoped to use for thier second event, comes only two weeks before UFC 94 which is expected to feature the dream fight between George St. Pierre and BJ Penn, adding more events to an already packed couple of months.
Affliction, co-promoting with Golden Boy Promotions, had the Honda Center in Aneheim booked for a January 17 fight card, which was going to feature WAMMA Heavyweight champion Fedor Emelianenko. Now, Affliction’s Tom Atencio says Affliction will move their event to another date. Atencio, when asked to comment, said “It doesn’t make sense to go head-to-head with them.”
UFC now has three pay-per-view events scheduled within a six week span, beginning with December 27 and ending on Super Bowl weekend in January 2009. Adding in the ‘The Ultimate Fighter 8′ finale on Spike, that is four events in eight weeks.
UFC also announced two fights for the January 17 event in Dublin, both featuring light-heavyweights. After coming off a win in his move to the 205lb weight class, Rich Franklin looks to begin a winning streak in the division when he takes on Dan Henderson. Henderson last fought in the middleweight division, and is considered a major contender to Anderson Silva’s UFC middlweight championship. Mauricio ‘Shogun’ Rua will take on Mark Coleman, who will turn forty-four years old before the fight. Coleman, a UFC hall of famer, was last scheduled to fight Brock Lesnar at heavyweight before an injury postponed his UFC return.
UFC vs Affliction – Part 2
If a Rich Franklin vs Dan Henderson were to be signed, it is unclear what weight division the match would be held under. Franklin recently made the move to Light-Heavyweight, while Henderson’s most recent victory in UFC came as a Middleweight. In the last few weeks, several opponents had been rumored for Rich Franklin’s next fight, including Chuck Liddell and Mauricio ‘Shogun’ Rua.
Possibilities are soaring in the UFC throughout many of its weight divisions. Currently, UFC is combining its WEC and UFC Light-Heavyweight and Middleweight divisions, which only adds to the already large number of contenders for the UFC championships. In the heavyweight division, a mini-tournament is underway to decide an undisputed Heavyweight champion. The first fight in that tournament happens on November 15 between Brock Lesnar and current champion Randy Couture. Recently, a dream fight between Welterweight Champion George St. Pierre and Lightweight Champion BJ Penn has been promoted. That fight is expected for Super Bowl weekend in 2009.
