I’ve been on the job hunt for quite some time, and recently I had one of my best prospects crumble beneath my feet. It wasn’t the most glorious job, a wireless phone retail establishment, but it was as close as I have found recently to be getting hired. Well, I was close, but “no cigar”, as the kiddos say. I found out today I was rejected. The manager didn’t want to hire me. I didn’t “interview well” or whatever. To that, I say FALSE! I interview gloriously. Point is, I didn’t get this job that I needed, and was almost certain I was going to get it. It’s about the shock, I suppose. Many of the jobs I have looked into and applied to, I have felt I wouldn’t get. I’ve reached outside my qualifications for many, because there’s no harm in sending stuff out there. However, this one I was definitely qualified for, had an inside track, and pretty much assumed I was going to get it. Assuming…eh. The search continues…
We’re heading into October soon enough. Lots of MMA stuff happening. I’ll be in Hammond, Indiana, on October 10 for the Showtime ‘ShoXC’ MMA event. This will be the third MMA event I have seen live, but definitely the biggest one of the bunch.
I’m looking at doing an audio post tomorrow or Friday, with the potential of debuting a video entry this weekend. Should be fun!
